Hello.

Well, hate to break it to you guys, but we're only going to have two favourites sections for this month — mainly because I haven't been able to indulge myself in the entertainment world seriously due to busy schedules.

So here we go!

Favourite songs of the month.

aespa - Next Level

ITZY - Sorry Not Sorry

Chungha - X

Favourite drama of the month.

The Blooms At RUYI Pavilion (2020)

This drama had been on my radar ever since the airing date was announced, but not until last week have I started watching it. Part of the reason was that (1) I'm bored and am in need of a new drama to watch — new dramas are on air every day, true, but most of them didn't suit my taste or even if they do, they're still ongoing and I just don't want to torture myself waiting for the updates, and (2) was because of Zhang Zhe Han who had created a buzz through his recent drama along with Gong Jun, thus has piqued my interest towards his previous works. So now that my (drama) schedule is free, I decided to give this a go.

Overall so far, the storyline is very well-written. The first ten episodes might be slow to some people (including me), but it gets better as it progresses. But if you're looking solely for romance, you might have to be patient with this one as the progression between the leads are VERY slow (or it's just me, idk). We won't get to see the real romance until half of the episodes (and they have a total of 44 of 'em!). When it comes to Chinese dramas, I'm more on the slow-viewer side (if that's even a word), so it's easy for me to get sidetracked while watching one — but amazingly, not with this one. I managed to watch the episodes without skipping too much, which in my opinion, says a lot.

I'm currently on the 18th episode and all I can say is that I'm eager to know how the story will unfold!

So that's it for this month's favourites. Later!

. Monday, 10 May 2021 .

Hello.

I've been contemplating for a while now on whether I should continue this thread or not. I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete this until the end of the year, but all I can say now is that I still want to write this. I still want to share my favourite listens, my favourite shows, show that I could share my love with you guys. But still, please do not expect a regular update for this one. I'll try to update every month if my health condition is good, but if not, I think I'd stick with a quarter year update, just like this post.

But damn, I'm on a roll these days lol.

So, here we go.

Favourite songs of the first quarter.

Chungha - Bicycle

(G)I-DLE - HWAA

Baekhyun - Bambi

DAY6 - You Make Me

Honourable mentions:

  1. DAY6 - So, This Is Love
  2. CLC - Helicopter
  3. IU - Troll (ft. DEAN)
  4. Wendy (Red Velvet) - Like Water
  5. Sejeong (Gugudan) - Warning (ft. lIlBOI)

Favourite artist of the first quarter.

Chungha

Truth be told, it's hard for me to narrow down my choices as lots of my favourite artists have made their comebacks in this span of four months. I choose Chungha because out of all the artist that had come back, her newest album, Querencia, has left the deepest impression on me, and also, her eye-catching performances makes me search for (public) dance covers of hers the most. It's amazing how she's able to communicate through her songs, as well as her performances that are very engaging and entertaining to watch (especially when she performs with her dancers). I really like her energy and the vibe that she shows in her every performance, and honestly, no one can really surpass her in terms of stage presence, both in singing and dancing. And she's very gorgeous too!

The favourite drama of the first quarter.

Mr. Queen (2020-2021)

This is certainly not your typical sageuk drama. This drama, along with Vincenzo, holds the top spot on my this year's favourite drama list yet. As you guys know, I'm a huge sucker for romance, and this drama certainly gives all the crumbs that I needed. Although this is a romantic comedy-drama, they're able to blend very well with the traditional plot and tension of a sageuk throughout the story. And it's fascinating how they're able to alter the genre very smoothly between scenes as it doesn't look awkward at all, but instead, very pleasing to watch. If you're looking for a nice drama to watch, you have to give this a try. This drama is just pure chaotic and could certainly bring a smile to your face. Hahaha.

Favourite actor of the first quarter.

Bai Jingting

I discovered him through Irreplaceable Love, starring with one of my favourite actresses, Sun Yi. He was already quite a charmer back then, but through his latest drama, You Are My Hero (which is a very very good drama), he has showcased another different charm as a captain of special ops in the military which had got me fallen a lot deeper than I expected. Although he's very charismatic and good at his job, he turns into a silly lover towards his partner, which is very cute to see. His ability to deliver emotions amazes me so much. And contrary to his cute babylike face, he's actually quite a "heavily-built" person underneath! Hehehe.

Till the next update, goodbye!

Hello.

I know I should have updated my blog at least once a month last year, but I'm very sorry for not being able to keep my promise. I wanted to update, but I just didn't have the energy to do so. I've recorded everything on my bullet journal, but I'm not sure whether I will post them here though. Again, I'm very sorry.

Talk about bullet journaling, that too now has changed into digital journaling! I bought an iPad Air 4th Generation last December and I've been journaling (...I think) on the iPad. But sadly, I thought I would do better if I use a digital journal but instead, it made me become even lazier than I intended to ;-; Maybe one of the reasons is because I use a pre-made template (though I made it myself from scratch) so I don't spend a lot of time editing and engaging with the journal. Heck, it looks even emptier than my previous bullet journal!

So, for the next semester, I have decided to go back to bullet journaling again, but this time, I'll try to separate some sections of the journal into two (some in bujo and the others on iPad) so that I won't have to feel sorry towards my empty wallet :')

I really want to show you guys some snippets of my journal but IT'S SO EMPTY I CAN'T—

I want to write. Okay, that's the rant.

I have this one short story that I've been wanting to finish since 2017 and up until now, I have read my draft like a million times, but I can't seem to write anything on it. It's not like I have lost my interest in writing, it's just that writing takes a lot of energy and my brain just couldn't handle it. And I thought that it was because of the writer's block, but actually the change of my well-being that had affected my will to write. Still, I really want to finish it because the storyline is so good, but idk... We'll see.

Regarding this blog, I've been thinking about which direction should I go with for some time now, since I still haven't find the right niche to use as the main theme. I've thought of merging into a lifestyle blog but I don't have the confidence to do so, as I don't really have that many ideas to write, still. And for me, the idea of having a blog is that I can write my own feelings and thoughts freely, with a sprinkle of life updates here and there, so I'm actually quite happy with my blog being very personalised.

But if I were to make a change, maybe after this, I will not be so discreet anymore. If I want to write about my mental health, I will. If I were to post rants instead of informative updates, I will. I'll try to be as open as possible (though I'm not quite sure how it will turn out). So before that time comes, this blog will not have a constant update for the time being.

Okay so, let's move on to the fun part!

I'm currently obsessing over:

SENCHA/CHACENZO!

I have finished watching Vincenzo and yes, they're absolutely this year's favourite drama yet (with Mr Queen following closely behind)! The storyline itself is a gem, the cinematography is on point and the relationship between the characters are very pleasing to watch. And we're also been blessed with these two insane visuals as well as the sparks between them. Just look at them, they're so beautiful!

... And I think that's it for now hahah.

Goodbye!
