. Tuesday 5 October 2021 .

Hello.

It's been a while since I've posted my list of favourites of the month. So here it is!:

Favourite songs of the month.

DAY6 (Even Of Day) - Right Through Me

AKMU - Nakka (feat IU)

Red Velvet - Queendom

Honourable mentions:

  1. CHEEZE - Daydream (She Would Never Know OST)
  2. Baek A Yeon - 0%
  3. STAYC - Stereotype
  4. Seori - Dive With You (feat eaJ)
  5. Young K - Guard You

Favourite drama of the month.

The Rational Life (2021)

This. drama. is. everything.

There.

Considering that this is suitable for mature audiences, and is very slow in the romance department, it has done a very good job at balancing both; the office-life theme with sprinkles of romance in between. It is about a working woman in her 30s who went through a downhill in her career as she's involved in office politics that had her demoted, and how she stood back up and build her career again slowly, and in the end, rose even higher than her superiors. Shen Ruo Xin is the's the epitome of a strong female lead. She's mature, calibre, rational, logical, and ready to face any problems and difficulties without wavering for even one second. She knows exactly what she wants, and she always pushes herself and fights for what she's worth. And the male lead, Qi Xiao, on the other hand, is charming and confident, yet so mature. He has dreams, he plans for the future, and always gives his best in whatever he does.

Although they have an age gap of 12 years (19 years in real life!), there was no awkwardness between the characters. The age gap issue and anything that revolves around it was handled very carefully, so it was very pleasant to watch. We get to experience their moments of falling in love as it progresses naturally; slow, yet realistic. Their relationship is stronger than ever, as they believed in each other and what they are capable of. There's no doubt in their relationship, as they are very honest with each other regarding their thoughts and feelings. The characters, dynamics, and personality development are very well-written. I've laughed and cried a lot while watching this, and I hope you guys will do too!
